Teresa Purla [1963-]

Teresa Purla is undoubtedly third generation aboriginal art royalty, being the daughter of Barbara Weir, and the granddaughter of the late Minnie Pwerle, two of our most internationally revered Utopian contemporary artists. And the talent hasn’t fallen far from the tree as far as Teresa is concerned as her amazing paintings are trademarked with either some of the most intricate and precise dotwork seen today or bold powerfully coloured designs reminiscent of her famous grandmother. Teresa’s paintings have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as featuring in several European countries including a highly successful joint exhibition with Minnie Pwerle entitled Grandmother and Granddaughter.
