Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri [c1948-]

Ngoia was brought up with her family at Haast Bluff, but now lives at Mount Liebig. She was married to Jack Tjampitjinpa Pollard [deceased] and they had five children. Ngoia’s works [she mainly paints ‘her father’s country’] depict the low-lying swamp areas of her traditional family’s county. Her unique distinctive style features in public and private collections all over the world, including our own National Gallery in Canberra. As testimony to her great talent, Ngoia won the prestigious 23rd Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Award in 2003.
