Nabula [Narpula] Scobie Napurrula [c1950-]
Narpula Scobie was born at Haasts Bluff around 1950 and commenced painting for the Papunya Tula Artists in the early 1980's - she was one of the first women in Walungurru to do so. Narpula hails from an elite artistic pedigree - she was married to Johnny Scobie Tjapanangka [deceased], a famous Pintubi artist, and is a sister to the equally internationally renowned Mitjili Napurrula. Narpula's art is forever evolving as she constantly finds new ways of depicting the traditional stories of her Dreamings. She has successfully exhibited internationally and her impressive works reside in many local and overseas public and private collections.
